Marilyn Munster was the pretty one, and this one was always 'the pretty one' too! Out of a long cross of Jocelyn's Oddity x Lily Munster deriving from seeds I purchased in 2010, and from her first flower in 2012 she has been a captivating and stunning flower. Fertile both ways and tested through all 5 years of my rust resistance screening with A+ rating each year, she is one of my favorites in the garden. She is not just a good breeder, but also really pretty in the garden. The scapes are shorter than I like, but some people really love short daylilies, and this is a useful and beautiful daylily.

The flower is so pretty with a combination of near-white, cream, pink and yellow. The flower is always stippled and interesting. The colors come together into a pattern of lighter edges with the deep pink petal centers and a radiant white to yellow throat radiating out into the eye area and onto the petals. I see a few flowers every year with pattern breaking on the petals in darker pink, and one of those flowers is featured in the image list below. I've seen lots of seedlings, and probably have an introduction or two coming from Marilyn Munster. She is an excellent breeder and passes both beautiful flowers and high rust resistance to many of her seedlings. Marilyn Munster is one of my favorite diploid introductions and one of my favorite pink diploid introductions too.

Below you will find multiple pictures of Marilyn Munster from 2013 through 2021, first in the hybridizing garden and then in the line out garden. The last three pictures are seedling from Marilyn Munster, the first of the three being a possible 2023 introduction.
