Comments: This very simple flower has a host of reasons to recommend it. It is first and foremost the latest flowering plant I have bred. While a few stragglers on rebloom may go just a bit later than this one, it starts in August when everything else if finishing up and flowers heavily through September, sometimes extending into October. The scapes are tall with nice branching and the flowers are attractive and bright, even if old fashioned. The plant is large and showed excellent rust resistance. The seedlings have been interesting, owing to pollen parent POI, often in tones of purple. Extremely fertile both ways and with a lot of untapped genetic potential for any breeding program. It is also a superb late season garden plant. BTW, the hunters in the daytime sky in my garden are Red-tailed and Red-shouldered hawks.
