Comments: From my 2020 introduction Misty Mountains Cold crossed with a seedling from the related Endless Heart crossed to Purple Termite, Eternal Mist is a strong rebloom with all the good traits of its ancestors. It has been a consistent, reliable rebloomer for me since first flower. The scapes are excellent, stout and dark green with hints of black on the tips of the buds and some branches. It also carries the dark scape gene, and I have produced dark scaped seedlings from it. The flowers are bright melon that fade to cream through the day, and occasionally end up near-white in the late evening. The dormant foliage is deep green and healthy. Both parents showed excellent rust resistance and the pollen parent has extremely high thrips resistance, which it also passed on to Eternal Mist. The thrips resistance of Eternal Mist is in the range of both Misty Mountains Cold and Samwise The Brave. With Eternal Mist, we get that combined with strong rebloom, while both MMC and STB rarely rebloom for me.
Eternal Mist is an extremely good garden plant and an excellent breeder for small flowers, rebloom, clear color (layering anthocyanin like purple or pink over pale melon gives the clearest results), dark scape, thrips resistance (and possibly rust resistance as well).
