Solar Soul goes way back to the very beginnings of my program and is one of the very first fancy x fancy crosses I made with what would become my best secondary base plant - Solaris Symmetry. Bred in 2012 and germinated that fall, Solar Soul went through all five years of rust resistance screening with A+ rating, but what set it apart from its seedlings was good late spring freeze and thrips resistance, and with extremely (surprisingly) nice scapes with tons of branches. I have been moving its pollen around for years and it has produced some very good seedlings, many showing high rust and thrips resistance. Carrying genetics for pleating from Love Comforts The Soul, I have seen pleating in some of the seedlings. The plant display on this one is something any gardener will love, but the results you can see in the seedling bed from Solar Soul will make it a hybridizer's delight as well.
