Substantially Awesome is a really exciting flower. I crossed full siblings Substantial Returns and Substantial Substance, but didn't expect anything quite like this! I was so surprised by this seedling, but honestly, all the siblings were a surprise, and this was a very good cross, and an instance of inbreeding going well. The plant, scape and flower of Substantially Awesome are all larger than either parent, throwing back more toward grandparent Substantial Evidence. The flower is larger than either parent and has thick substance, is quite flat and is a lovely pale cream/peach color. Rust resistant through the last two years of my screening program. Reblooms consistently for me, shows good thrips resistance and is fertile. A plant selected as much for its lovely, ruffly flower as for its excellent plant traits and representation. For the breeder and for garden display.
