They say the spice gives you spice eyes. The spice eyes are blue. And so The Spice Must Flow gives us Spice Eyes. The first introduction from my monster F1 species outcross introduction The Spice Must Flow, this beautiful deep pink-lavender flower with a bluish-lavender eye that sometimes breaks into patterned blue/gray/lavender eyes is an advancement in flower color, breaking from the wild type coloring of The Spice Must Flow and combining that beautiful coloring with high late freeze resistance, thrips resistance, rust resistance (tested at A+ level for three years) and fertility both ways.
The plant is attractive and looks great in the garden because it performs very well in the early garden, even when there are late freezes, droughts and lots of thrips. It is an excellent breeder and I see rebloom many years, though not every year, so I didn't register it as a rebloomer. Many of the seedlings rebloom and also show excellent resistant to the set of spring plagues of late freezes, thrips and drought, as well as rust.
