A cross of two great plants, Substantial Rosebud is the realization of an initial goal - deep, rich rose-pink coloring with a well-opening flower that has extremely thick substance. Comparable to only a few dips I have ever grown, and with greater substance of petal than parent SE, Substantial Rosebud really is a standout! The plant is very attractive and showed A+ rust resistance through all 5 years of screening and with moderate thrips resistance, fertile both ways and showing breeding value for rust resistance, gorgeous color and extreme flower substance, Substantial Rosebud will be of use in diploid breeding programs and is gorgeous in the garden too.
